
Spotify adds 12 new Indian languages to its mobile app for better reach

Spotify has now added language support in Hindi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and Bengali.
Spotify, the popular music streaming company, announced last month that it would add 36 languages the world over out of which 12 would be Indian languages. The twelve new Indian languages that Spotify has now added to its mobile app are Hindi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and Bengali. Spotify is now available in 62 languages to users globally. Spotify app also supports global languages like Romanian, Swahili, Slovenian, Filipino, Simplified Chinese, and Portuguese among others. The company had also highlighted that India is one of the eight new markets in 2021, where Spotify will expand it's Sound Up initiative to represent underrepresented podcasters. During the Stream On virtual event last month, Spotify noted that it would soon be available to more than a billion people in over 80 new markets globally as the company focuses on bringing more content, both global and local, to users. Spotify said that it will focus on deeper, more active curation of music in regional languages such as Kannada, Bhojpuri, and Bengali, among others and also plans to soon launch its next set of original podcasts in India.More Related News
