A special court to deal with National Investigating Agency's (NIA) cases in Mumbai rejected the interim bail plea of Elgar Parishad accused Professor Shoma Sen.
A special court to deal with the National Investigating Agency (NIA) cases in Mumbai rejected the interim bail plea of Professor Shoma Sen, an accused in the Elgar Parishad case.
63-year-old Shoma Sen had told the court that she was on medication for high blood pressure, glaucoma and osteoarthritis. Advocate Sharif Shaikh, appearing for Shoma Sen, argued that her ailments put her at higher risk for severe illnesses from Covid-19 and, as such, she was eligible to apply for interim bail.
