
Special CBI court convicts 5 persons in 2003 coal scam case

The CBI had registered a case against Ranchi-based Domco Private Limited, its promoters and other unknown persons, and convicted three of the company's previous directors.
A CBI special court here on Tuesday convicted five persons in connection with a coal scam case related to the Lalgarh (North) coal block allocated during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government in 2003, officials said.The court convicted Binay Prakash, then Managing Director of Domco Private Limited, Ranchi, Vasant Diwakar Manjrekar and Paramananda Mondal, both then Directors of Domco Private Limited, Sanjay Khandewal, a chartered accountant in Kolkata and the company Domco Pvt. Ltd. in the coal scam case.
