Srisailam temple adjusts sparsha darshan slots due to high turnout on weekends, now offering two slots with online ticketing.
The Srisailam temple authorities have made changes in the ‘sparsha darshan’ slots, once again, on weekends and holidays citing huge turnout of devotees on these days. The temple authorities have been providing sparsha darshan in three slots till now but now reduced the same to two.
So far devotees were allowed to have sparsha darshan in three slots, from 7.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m., 11.45 a..m. to 1.30 p.m. and from 8.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. It is now decided to provide sparsha darshan at 7.30 a.m. in the morning and again for two hours at 9 p.m. The afternoon slot has been suspended, the temple officials said in a statement.
Sparsha darshan tickets should be purchased online only and 500 tickets will be released for each slot. Similarly, the temple authorities have also decided to hold the Arjitha Kumkumarchana priced at ₹1,000 at the Ashirvachana Mandapam of the Goddess Bhramarambha temple on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and on government holidays during which the devotee rush would be high. This will ensure speedy darshan to the common devotees waiting in queue lines.
This is the third time in a month that the temple management had made changes to sparsha darshan slots. In December first week, the then Executive Officer announced suspension of sparsha darshanam, Arjitha Abhisekhams in the sanctum and also the mass Arjitha Abhisekhams on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, government holidays and other rush days.
After taking charge on December 5, the present executive officer M. Srinivasa Rao reversed the decision on December 10 and decided to facilitate Sparsha darshan to the devotees in three slots on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, government holidays and other rush days without causing any inconvenience to the common devotees. The decision was taken following requests and suggestions to reintroduce the sparsha darshan on all days.
