Farhan Solanki was hospitalized due to an alleged overdose of sleeping pills. Farhan's family claimed that he was in depression after his in-laws demanded Rs 2.5 crore for settling the triple talaq case.
Farhan Solanki, brother of Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki, was hospitalized on Wednesday due to an alleged overdose of sleeping pills.
According to sources, Farhan was found lying unconscious in his room. “Soon, the family members admitted him to a private hospital in Sarvodaya Nagar area,” sources said, adding that Farhan’s condition was stable right now.
Farhan's family claims that he was in depression after his in-laws demanded Rs 2.5 crore for settling the triple talaq case.
.Recently, an FIR was registered against Farhan for giving triple talaq to his wife following intervention by the CM office. Farhan’s brother and wife have also been accused in the case. Farhan has also been accused of dowry and physical assault.
Imran Solanki, Farhan’s brother, alleged that on the instructions of Irfan(SP MLA), Farhan tried to talk to his in-laws but a huge demand of 2.5 crores was made by them, after which he started taking sleeping pills due to tension.
However, Farhan’s father-in-law has refuted the allegations. “I have not made any demand for money. I just want rights for my daughter's children. This is just a gimmick to save himself from arrest. I talked to Farhan on the phone and he asked me to settle the matter by taking some money,” Javed, father-in-law of Farhan said.
“Farhan offered to pay Rs 40 lakh to me but I insisted he just bear the expenditure of my grandchildren. He gave triple talak to my daughter in 2019 but no FIR was registered even after my complaint due to pressure from MLA Irfan. Vidhayak ji (Irfan) asked me to sit and solve the matter several times but no conclusion was reached,” Javed added.
