Southern worry: No slowdown in Covid uptick in Kerala

With nearly 20,000 daily Covid-19 cases since the last few days, Kerala's virus scare refuses to calm down despite the situation getting better in rest of the country.
Active Covid cases refuse to go down in Kerala even as the situation betters in other states such as Maharashtra once the worst affected region in the country. Eight other states and Union territories have also reported an uptick in cases in the week ending August 2. In the case of Kerala, the latest average weekly rise was more than 17 per cent, with nearly 20,000 cases every day. The weekly rise in active cases was 50 per cent in Mizoram and nearly 27 per cent in Meghalaya, albeit on a low base. Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Lakshadweep also witnessed a slight uptick in average weekly active cases.More Related News
