India tour of South Africa: Even as the pressure is mounting on Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane over their lean patch, batting coach Vikram Rathour said the team management is not losing patience with their senior batters.
India's batting coach Vikram Rathour called for patience, saying the team management is not getting impatient with Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara even as their lean patch continued in the 1st Test between South Africa and India in Centurion.
Speaking to the press after the end of Day 4, Rathour said both Rahane and Pujara are trying their best and they need to be given time to overcome a lean patch that has, unfortunately, extended for quite some time now. The experienced duo put up a fight on Wednesday but were unable to convert their starts into big knocks as India were bowled out for 174 on a wearing SuperSport Park pitch.
