India tour of South Africa: Mohammed Shami picked up his 6th 5-wicket haul in Tests on Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test in Centurion. He became only the 5th Indian pacer to pick up 200 wickets in the longest format of the game.
Mohammed Shami on Tuesday became the third-fastest Indian fast bowler to pick up 200 Test wickets. The 31-year-old pacer achieved the milestone when he picked up a 5-wicket haul on Day 3 of the 1st Test against South Africa at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on December 28. Mohammed Shami got to his 200th wicket in his 55th Test, only behind Kapil Dev who got to the milestone in 1983 in his 50th Test match. Javagal Srinath had joined the 200-wickets club in his 54th Test in 2001. Srinath's feat also came in South Africa.
