South Africa vs India: Rassie van der Dussen was named the Player of the Match for his 96-ball 129 that helped South Africa post 296 and eventually win the first ODI by 31 runs in Paarl on Wednesday.
South Africa batter Rassie van der Dussen on Wednesday said the batting unit took a lot of confidence heading into the ODI series from their hard-fought fourth-innings chases in the last two Tests earlier this month. Van der Dussen led from the front with the bat with an aggressive hundred as South Africa defeated India in the 1st ODI of a 3-match series in Paarl.
Rassie van der Dussen hit 129, smashing 9 boundaries and 4 sixes, in just 96 balls as he helped South Africa post 296 on a sluggish Boland Park pitch. He joined forces with captain Temba Bavuma who also hit a hundred as a 204-run stand for the 4th wicket boxed India out of the contest in the ODI series opener.
