Sourav Ganguly on India hosting IPL 2021 despite COVID surge: Hope everything will be fine for 2 months
India Today
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly praised the cricketers participating in IPL 2021 for having the patience to live in bio-bubbles and also opened up on the challenges they are facing while hosting the T20 extravaganza amid the second wave of COVID-19 in India.
Former India captain and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly hopes to see a smooth and fair Indian Premier League amid the rising cases of coronavirus in India. IPL is back in the country it originated from in 2008 after a gap of 677 days but the tournament is being played here at a time when India is witnessing a second wave of COVID. The number of cases is increasing every day with Maharashtra being the worst-hit state. The BCCI had taken the IPL abroad to the United Arab Emirates last year because of COVID but this time they have decided to stay put and risk holding the tournament in India even though the situation is even worse now than what it was last year.More Related News
