Sonu Sood has reacted to Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep's spat over the Hindi language. Here's what the actor said in an interview.
Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep sparked a controversy after he mentioned in an interview that Hindi is no longer the national language. Following this, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn took a direct dig at Kiccha Sudeep on Twitter. In his tweet, the Runway 34 actor mentioned that Hindi will always be India's national language. In response to this, Kiccha Sudeep issued a clarification. Amidst their spat, Sonu Sood reacted to this entire debate.
In an interview with Indian Express, Sonu Sood reacted to Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep's spat. "I don’t think Hindi can be called just the national language. India has one language, which is entertainment. It doesn’t really matter which industry you belong to. If you entertain people, they will love you, honour you and accept you," said Sonu.
The actor further mentioned that filmmakers need to start respecting the audience's sensibilities now. "Gone are days when people used to say ‘leave your mind behind’. They won’t leave their minds behind and shell out thousands of rupees on an average film. Only good cinema will be accepted," he opined.
After Kiccha Sudeep made the controversial remark, Ajay Devgn took to his official Twitter handle and penned, "@KicchaSudeep my brother, According to you if Hindi is not our national language then why do you release your mother tongue movies by dubbing them in Hindi? Hindi was, is and always will be our mother tongue and national language. Jan Gan Man. (sic)."
