Sonal Naroth captures Indian grandparents' struggles in a Covid world with Grand-Nannies

Filmmaker Sonal Naroth is creating a photo story Grand-Nannies about Indian grandparents who travel to New York and New Jersey to take care of their grandchildren, and on whose plans and lives Covid wreaked unimaginable havoc.
Filmmaker Sonal Naroth, who worked as art director and coordinator for films like Oscar-nominated Marriage Story and Mojin: The Lost Legend, is creating a photo story, Grand-Nannies. The photo story is about Indian grandparents who travel to New York and New Jersey to take care of their grandchildren, and how Covid-19 wreaked unimaginable havoc on their plans and lives. The 31-year-old artist, educated at Mount Carmel College in Bangalore and the New York Film Academy, captures moving stories of elderly Indians. Some have been forced to stay through the harsh winter in America while others have longed to be with their US-based children and grandchildren. However, they are unable to do so because of travel restrictions and health risks.More Related News
