Somalia, Kenya leaders thank Amir for efforts to mend ties

Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a telephone conversation with President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, last evening.

During the phone call, the Somali President expressed his sincere thanks to H H the Amir for the State of Qatar’s efforts and endeavours to heal the rift between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of Kenya, which resulted in the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries. H H the Amir expressed his congratulations to the Somali President for this wise decision. H H the Amir also held a telephone conversation with President of Kenya, H E Uhuru Kenyatta. During the phone call, President of Kenya expressed his sincere thanks to H H the Amir for Qatar’s efforts and endeavours to heal the rift between Kenya and Somalia, which resulted in the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
