Snowfall warning now in place for western P.E.I. Monday night

Environment Canada has now issued a snowfall warning for Prince County, with up to 15 centimetres of snow possible from late Monday into Tuesday morning.
The weather agency said visibility could suddenly plunge at times in heavy snow, and advised drivers to be ready to adjust to changing road conditions.
CBC meteorologist Jay Scotland said temperatures were expected to dip to the -1 to -2 C range by midnight, but climb above the freezing mark by early Tuesday morning, combined with wind gusts between 25 and 50 km/h.
That means slushy roads could be in store for the morning commute, he said.
"Snow begins this evening and mixes to rain showers overnight into early Tuesday morning for most areas — but it's mainly snow Up West," Scotland said Monday afternoon. "Freezing rain and ice pellets are possible during the transition late this evening and overnight."
Lingering rain showers Tuesday will taper off in the early to mid-morning hours, ahead of a mainly cloudy day that will see the sun break through the clouds more frequently by late afternoon.
Temperatures will top out in the 2 to 6 C range, but there is also a chance for wet snow or rain showers late Tuesday evening, with a slight freezing rain risk during that time.
