Fire up those snowball making hands and warm up for some shovelling, London — up to 20 centimetres of snow is expected to fall in the region by Saturday morning, according to the forecast from Environment Canada.
The national weather service has issued a snow squall warning for London, Parkhill, Strathroy, Komoka and eastern and western Middlesex County. Snow squalls are expected through the day Friday and into the night.
"The heavy snow will combine with strong northwesterly winds resulting in reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow at times," Environment Canada said in a statement.
Snow and strong winds are expected to impact travel on local roads and area highways.
The snow squalls are expected to taper off by Saturday morning.
The forecasted high for Friday is zero degrees. On Saturday it is expected to be mainly cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries and light winds up to 15 km/h and a high of 0 C.
