A swath of snow is expected to move into Waterloo region, Guelph and southern Wellington County starting Thursday afternoon and continuing overnight, Environment Canada says.
In a winter weather travel advisory, the agency says the area could see up to six centimetres of snow before it tapers off overnight.
"Snowfall rates are expected to be at their highest this evening and may cause impacts to the evening commute," the travel advisory said.
People were reminded to be prepared to adjust their driving to the changing road conditions.
Thursday's forecast is calling for a high of –2 C. Overnight, it's expected to be –3 C and there's a risk of freezing drizzle and fog before morning.
Friday is forecasted to be cloudy with a high of 5 C.
