The local residents of Palamedu in Madurai district were seen perched on their terraces and parapets to catch a glimpse of the jallikattu event held on ‘Mattu’ Pongal, Wednesday. As the event progressed, the number increased gradually, even as a large crowd was seated in the galleries. The public were cheering and clicking pictures of the event on their mobile phones.

People use drones to get a closer image at Avaniapuram

In order to capture a bird’s eye view of the event some of the people used drones at Avaniapuram jallikattu. However, it caused a stir as the drone zoomed past the audience gathered at the venue. While they cheered at the sound of the drone, they were also visibly uncomfortable and flinched as it neared them though unintentionally.

Bull with cramps shifted in ambulance for treatment

A bull suffered from cramps during the Avaniapuram jallikattu held on Tuesday. The bull sat down near the barricade of the arena. With attempts made to make it move failed, the event was suspended for a couple of minutes as an ambulance made its way into the arena and the bull was taken for treatment.
