Gold worth Rs 1 crore 19 lakh was seized by the authorities at Lucknow airport in Uttar Pradesh late on Sunday night. The gold was seized from two youths who arrived from Dubai.
The travellers smuggled the gold into India by taping it to their feet.
Last week, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) unit intercepted seven passengers who had arrived on different flights at the Kochi airport in Kerala and seized 6.2 kg of gold in compound form from their possession.
A few days before that, Customs officials at the Pune International Airport seized gold worth Rs 34.8 lakh and arrested a man in connection with the case on February 7.
