As a strict measure against cheating, in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, police personnel cut the sleeves of women candidates' outfits with scissors who had to appear for the Rajasthan Police Constable exam.
In a video, a woman cop was seen snipping the sleeves of the candidates using scissors. The girls who were wearing full-sleeved clothes were subjected to such actions by the security outside the examination centres. (The video was not used because of its content)
Many girls started weeping on seeing their clothes being cut. Apart from this, the police asked the married women who came to appear for the examination to remove their chains and other jewellery that they wore.
Furthermore, a candidate who reached the examination centre a minute late was not allowed to enter the centre. The girl kept saying over and over again that she had been preparing for the exam for a long time. But the officers did not let her appear for the exam and she had to return disappointed.
Meanwhile, ASP Anil Meena, said, “3,000 candidates have come to take the examination in Bharatpur district. There is security at all the examination centres and the examination is being conducted in an atmosphere of peace.”
GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES
The government had earlier issued guidelines stating that male and female candidates would have to come wearing a half-sleeve t-shirt, shirt, suit, saree, and use a simple rubber band for the hair.
