On the back of Abdullah Shafique's 160 not out, Pakistan recorded their second highest ever successful run-chase of 342 in the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle.
'Rawalpindi Express' Shoaib Akhtar hailed Abdullah Shafique's innings after Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in the first Test at Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan rode on Shafique's unbeaten 160 to record their second highest ever successful run-chase on Wednesday, when Babar Azam's men chased down 342 in the first Test against Sri Lanka to take a 1-0 lead. Pakistan's highest target (377) came against the same opponent back in 2015 in Pallekele.
"Memorable win in Galle. @imabd28 kya baat hai yar. What an inning full of grit, determination & never say die attitude," said former Pakistan cricketer Akhtar.

With their victory in the first Test, Pakistan have returned to third spot in the ICC World Test Championship table, with only South Africa and Australia ahead of them. Meanwhile, the loss resulted in Sri Lanka losing their number three spot. The Island nation has slipped to No. 6, below Pakistan (3rd), India (4th) and West Indies (5th).
