Sri Lanka vs Pakistan, 2nd Test Day 2 Highlights
Sri Lanka are well placed to level the series and pick up some crucial World Test Championship points after they were humbled in the series opener by 4 wickets after an Abdullah Shafique special in the final innings. However, Shafique got out for a duck with pacer Asitha Fernando getting the star opener in the very first over.
Pakistan suffered a huge blow when they lost captain Babar Azam to Prabath Jayasuriya, who continues to impress in whites for Sri Lanka. Opener Imam-ul-Haq got a start but he was castled by Dhananjaya de Silva for 32. It was a rare failure for Babar, who has been in fine form in the ongoing Test series. The Pakistan captain hit a hundred and followed it up with a fourth-innings fifty in the first Test.
Babar went for a drive without covering the line of the delivery and Jayasuriya's delivery took the outside edge of the skipper's bat before crashing onto the stumps.
Ramesh Mendis then wrecked the middle-order, picking up the crucial wickets of Mohammad Rizwan and Fawad Alam for 24.
