Ahead of the Congress meeting in Jaipur today, Congress MP KC Venugopal said the situation in Rajasthan will be clear soon and there are no issues related to the speculations of a new chief minister.

“The situation in Rajasthan will be clear very soon. There are no issues there,” he told India Today.

The Congress is all set to hold a meeting of its legislature party in Rajasthan at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's Jaipur residence at 7 pm on Sunday amid speculations of a change in state guard.

“There will be a CLP meeting this evening. For this meeting, the Congress president sent two observers, Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken. They will go there and analyse the situation there. They will participate in the meeting and give a report to Congress President Sonia Gandhi.”

Commenting on the party presidential election, he said, “Everything is good for the party if you take it that way. The democratic organisational election is a beautiful signal to the national political scenario,” he said.

On the race between Shashi Tharoor and Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, he said, “How can you tell there are only two contenders? Maybe three or maybe more. Whoever wants to file the nominations, can file. We are not going to stop the nominations at all.”
