Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, he sad that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will also take part in the function. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Ministers Dinesh Gundu Rao, K.M. Rajanna, Laxmi Hebbalkar, Shivanand Patil, R.B. Thimmapur, MPs Brijesh Chowta and D. Veerendra Heggade, and Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swami will take part.
Mr. Kumar said over nine lakh women members of one lakh self-help groups, who are associated with the trust, will take part in the function. These women from 10 districts will sport green sari for the function.
He said the trust has been helping women in getting financial assistance, and providing skill training, through the SHGs, which is helping women become self reliant. The trust will be announcing a new scheme for SHG members during the event, he said.
Mr. Kumar said the function will be held at the Gold Finch City grounds in Bangra Kuloor. Nearly 20 stalls will come up at the function venue where products of SHG members and other organisations will be exhibited, he said.
