Looks like Japan is the latest destination for all Indian biggies! Just days after the release of Jr NTR’s film Devara: Part 1, Silambarasan and director Venkat Prabhu’s time-loop thriller Maanaadu is getting a release in the island country.
The film’s producer, Suresh Kamatchi, took to his X handle to confirm the news. The Tamil post written by the producer translates to “A good film is like a beautiful bird. It will be loved across continents. Maanaadu is currently set to release in Japan in May. There is hope that this loophole screenplay will captivate the hearts of the Japanese.”
Maanaadu follows an NRI and a police officer who are trapped in a time loop on the day of a public conference and forced to live the same day over and over again. Simbu plays the lead, while the rest of the cast includes S. J. Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Manoj Bharathiraja, S. A. Chandrasekhar, Y. G. Mahendran, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash and Anjena Kirti.
Last seen in Pathu Thala, Silambarasan has multiple films coming up. The actor has teamed up with Parking filmmaker Ramkumar Balakrishnan. The Delhi High Court on Monday ordered status quo till July 10 on the demolition notices issued by the Delhi Development Authority against seven residents of Okhla’s Batla House area. The court posted the matter for hearing on July 10, when the other petitions related to the demolitions in the area are also scheduled for hearing. The counsel for the petitioners argued that the DDA and the Delhi government had “indiscriminately targeted properties beyond the identified area and without issuance of individual notices”.
