Punjab Police has got the transit remand of four accused in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case.
Punjab Police has got transit remand of four accused, including two shooters, in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case from the Patiala House Court in Delhi.
The accused in whose name the transit has been secured include Priyabarat alias Fauzi (main shooter), Kashish alias Kuldeep (shooter), Deepak alias Tinu (a close aide of Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and was brought by Delhi Police on production warrant), and Keshav Kumar (provided vehicle and helped shooters in escaping).
An application has been filed by the special prosecutor to grant the transit remand to the accused persons, formally arrested by the officer in-charge of Mansa City Police Station in Punjab.
The court observed that as the arrested persons had been accused of committing a cognizable offence, the transit remand of accused persons for one day was granted to produce them before the concerned court as early as possible.
The order further stated the medical examination of the accused persons should be conducted as per rules and guidelines laid out by the Apex Court. If accused persons need any medical facility, the officer in-charge was directed to ensure that the accused persons get the same within time, it further read.
Meanwhile, the original order along with the record was handed over to the police. Jail superintendents of Tihar and Rohini were also directed to hand over the custody of the accused to SP Dharamvir Singh or DSP Gobinder Singh.
Punjabi singer-politician Sidhu Moosewala was gunned down in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29. Thirteen accused have been arrested from various parts of Haryana and Punjab so far.
