Siddharth reveals that he loves acting because he gets to play different roles. He shared why he decided to take up Escapye Live.
Siddharth is a well known name in both Hindi and South Indian film industry. The actor has been a part of some iconic films including Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005), Rang De Basanti and Bommarillu (2006) among others. Siddharth has worked with the biggest of directors and continues to receive critical acclaim for all the work he does. He returns to the screen with Escapye Live which will stream on Disney + Hotstar.
Speaking to IndiaToday.in exclusively, Siddharth said that he returns to Hindi cinema and series when he finds something interesting to do and offer. He told us, “A lot of times people tend to forget that I am a Delhi boy. I am a Hindi-speaking boy, I am very fluent in the language. But, of course, I have worked a lot in South Cinema. So, every time I come to Hindi, it is like a hobby, and I come to it when I find something very interesting. I am glad that Siddharth thought of me for this role because it is not a conventional role. It is unlike anything I have attempted. I act till I get to do something different, otherwise I will do some other job.”
Speaking about the challenges of shooting for the series, Siddharth added, “It was a very difficult shoot because it had to be very real. There is no such thing as right or wrong in society. So, my character has very strong opinions in the show. Is he responsible for anything that is beyond his control? That was very challenging.”
Siddharth had earlier also spoken to us about the ongoing language debate and mentioned how he feels the entire debate is ‘motivated’ and ‘unnecessary’.
