Shot 6 times during violence, 2 bullets still lodged in body, says Ranchi man

Multiple people, including policemen, were injured in the violent protests that took place in Jharkhand’s Ranchi. Absar, a local man, was hospitalised after he said that he was shot 6 times. He added that doctors removed 4 bullets and 2 are still lodged inside.
Absar, one of the civilians who was shot during the violence in Ranchi, is now being treated at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). He said that he had been shot six times. He also added that doctors had removed four bullets while two are still lodged inside.
The man claimed that he was returning from the market and was not participating in the protest when he saw a group of people pelting stones, and the police firing in response.
After Friday prayers, a procession by the Muslim community against the statements made by Nupur Sharma turned into a violent clash as they reached the nearby Hanuman temple.

The police prevented the protesters from moving forward, and the situation turned from bad to worse as protesters resorted to pelting stones.
The situation deteriorated to such an extent that the police had to fire in the air and also fire tear gas shells. Two people also died as a result of the violence.
Another Ranchi resident, Tabrak, was also injured in the firing. A bullet was lodged in the right side of the body near the waist, and he is undergoing treatment at RIMS.
