A gunman walked into the manager’s office of a Stop & Shop grocery store on Long Island on Tuesday and opened fire, killing one person and wounding two others before fleeing, the police said. The police said they were searching for a man wanted in connection with the shooting, and identified him as Gabriel DeWitt Wilson, 30, of Long Beach and Hempstead, N.Y. Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder of the Nassau County Police Department said at a news conference that it was not yet clear what led to the shooting, which took place at a Stop & Shop in West Hempstead, N.Y. He said that Mr. Wilson was either a current or former employee of the grocery store, and that the police were investigating whether the shooting was connected to his employment there.More Related News
