Shocking Assam video: All Assam Minority Students' Union, Jamiyat call for 12-hr bandh on Friday, demand compensation

Minority bodies in Assam call for a bandh and demand compensation for family members over the brutality caught in a video.

All Assam Minority Students' Union, Jamiyat and a few other organizations have jointly called a 12-hour band in Darrang district of Assam in protest against Thursday's incident, where policemen, including a government-appointed photographer, were seen mercilessly beating up an unidentified person.

During a press conference, the joint committee of the organizations said they have demanded the state government and administration to give Rs 10 lakh to the kin of each deceased person and Rs 5 lakh to each injured person.
