Shoaib Akhtar on IPL 2021 suspension: International cricket can take place in a bubble, not franchise cricket
India Today
Shoaib Akhtar said that playing franchise cricket like the IPL in a bio-bubble amid the raging second wave of the Covid-19 in India was never going to be possible for the BCCI to pull off.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar fully backed the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) decision to suspend the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 with immediate effect due to the coronavirus crisis in India. The Indian cricket board indefinitely postponed the IPL 2021 after 4 cases of players testing positive for Covid-19 were confirmed on May 3 and 4. Chennai Super Kings bowling and batting coaches L Balaji and Michael Hussey also contracted the virus along with a bus cleaner earlier this week.More Related News
