
Shivraj Singh Chouhan dials parents of 16-year-old wounded in Khargone violence

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan spoke over the phone to the parents of Shivam, the 16-year-old boy who was wounded during the communal clashes in Khargone.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday spoke to the parents of the 16-year-old boy who was grievously wounded in the violence that erupted in Khargone on Ram Navami.
Shivam, a resident of Khargone’s Zamindar Mohalla, is battling for his life at a hospital in Indore after sustaining injuries to his skull when the Ram Navami procession he was a part of descended into chaos there was stone-pelting, clashes and arson.
In a telephonic conversation with Shivam’s parents, Chouhan enquired how the teenager was holding up. Shivam’s father said his condition has improved over the last couple of days.

Shivam’s father also broached the subject of his daughter’s marriage with the chief minister. His mother also spoke of the same. To this, Chouhan assured all possible help in arranging her nuptials.
Referring to himself by the popular monicker of “Mamaji”, Chouhan said he would get Shivam’s sister happily married off. He also called her his “niece”.
Khargone had witnessed communal clashes on Ram Navami last Sunday wherein stones were hurled, vehicles torched and some houses damaged, leading to the clamping of curfew in the entire city. At least 24 people, including six policemen, were injured in the violence.
