Speaking at a public meeting in Jalgaon, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said his party was treated like "slaves" when it was part of the BJP-led government in Maharashtra.
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said on Saturday that the Shiv Sena was treated like "slaves" when it was part of the BJP-led coalition government in Maharashtra. Speaking in Jalgaon, Sanjay Raut alleged that the BJP tried to "finish off" Shiv Sena by giving it "secondary status" in the government. A dispute over who would become the chief minister in the aftermath of the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections ended the pre-poll alliance between Shiv Sena and BJP. It was then that the Shiv Sena allied with the NCP and Congress to form the Maha Vikas Aghadi government with Uddhav Thackeray as the chief minister. "The Shiv Sena was given a secondary status in the previous government and was [treated] like slaves. Attempts were also made to finish off our party by misusing the very power which was enjoyed because of our support," Sanjay Raut said.More Related News
