India Today
Jamia Hamdard has celebrated Founder’s Day 2021 and commemorated the contribution of Late Janab Hakeem Abdul Hameed Sahib.
Dr. Shashi Tharoor Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, and the former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations was the chief guest for the event who gave a detailed lecture and enlightened on the topic, 'The Idea of a University: Higher Education in Post Pandemic India.'
Tharoor shed light regarding the transformation of educational institutions from a window of knowledge to a window to the labour market which is currently a hot topic. The National Education Policy emphasises the importance of such a change. The pandemic should only be viewed as a catalyst for the changes that are already taking place. Many things that were considered eccentric changes before Covid-19 may now be required. Using cell phones during class, for example, would have irritated professors in the pre-covid era.
