Shahid Kapoor to pay tribute to Bappi Da with his IIFA 2022 performance

Shahid Kapoor will be performing at IIFA 2022 in Abu Dhabi, but it won't be just a regular dance performance. Shahid will pay a special tribute to the late legendary singer Bappi Lahiri through his performance.
Shahid Kapoor, who will be performing at the IIFA 2022 at Etihad Arena in Yas Island Abu Dhabi, is set to pay a special tribute to the late legendary singer Bappi Lahiri. During a press conference on June 2, the actor revealed that his special performance will be dedicated to Bappi Lahiri, who passed away on February 16, 2022, due to Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Shahid Kapoor was speaking at the IIFA 2022 press conference on Thursday, June 2. Talking about what to expect from the grand IIFA event, Shahid revealed that his performance this year will be a special one as he won't be performing his song, but that of legendary singer and music composer, Bappi Lahiri. Shahid Kapoor said, “I am paying a tribute to Bappi Da with my performance. I will dance to his evergreen songs. This time, I’m not performing on any of my songs but only for Bappi Da."
Shahid, who last performed in New York for IIFA, also shared that he is excited about returning to the stage after a long time. He said, "I love performing live. It's the best connection between an artist and the audience. I won't be dancing to any of my songs. I've not been allowed to perform any of my songs, (but) I'm paying a special tribute to Bappi Da and his songs. I'm excited and looking forward to that.”
The mega celebrations will begin on June 3, 2022, with IIFA Rocks, hosted by Farah Khan Kunder and Aparshakti Khurana and will feature performances by Devi Sri Prasad, Tanishk Bagchi, Guru Randhawa, Honey Singh, Neha Kakkar, Dhvani Bhanushali, Zahrah S Khan, Dhvani Bhanushali, Asees Kaur.
The grand finale - IIFA Awards will take place on June 4, 2022, and will be hosted by Bollywood superstars Salman Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Maniesh Paul, along with electrifying performances by Tiger Shroff, Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Divya Khosla Kumar and Nora Fatehi.
