Several parts of Tamil Nadu are facing a flood-like situation following continuous heavy rainfall. Here's a look at the ground report.

Heavy rains have been lashing Chennai and the other coastal districts in Tamil Nadu, with several parts of the state facing very high levels of flooding. According to the revenue and disaster management department, 2021 has witnessed the highest rainfall of the season, and will even surpass the records of 2015 rains, if heavy showers continue for the next few days in November.

In this condition, all the locations that generally see localised flooding witnessed the same episode. At Madipakkam’a Ram Nagar, a resident said, “This is a repeated issue and this happens year after year but no government or official has done anything to rectify this.”
