Police say the unclaimed attack was carried out on a convoy transporting workers to a Shell oil and gas project.
Seven people have been killed in an attack on a convoy transporting workers to a Shell oil and gas project in Nigeria’s southeast, police say. No group claimed responsibility for Monday’s attack, but southeast Nigeria has seen a wave of deadly violence targeting security personnel and government facilities since the beginning of the year. Police have previously blamed the violence on the Indigenous People of Biafra or IPOB, an outlawed movement seeking independence for ethnic Igbo people of the region, but the group has denied the accusation.More Related News
