Several civilians and soldiers killed in Mogadishu suicide attack

Al-Shabab armed group claims responsibility for latest attack in Somali capital.

At least nine people have been killed in a suspected suicide bombing in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, police and witnesses said.

The attack on Tuesday claimed the lives of both civilians and members of the security forces.

“There are still investigations going on but with all indications so far, a suicide bomber caused the blast,” police officer Mohamed Ali was quoted as saying by AFP news agency, adding that six members of the security forces and three civilians were killed and 11 other people wounded.
