Several crosswalks throughout the city do not have a crossing guard as the city searches for more people to take up the responsibility.
Some students in Cambridge aren’t starting the school year off on the best foot amid a crossing guard shortage.
Several crosswalks throughout the city do not have a crossing guard as the city searches for more people to take up the responsibility.
“Staff have been actively recruiting crossing guards since June to support the current school year and are currently processing applications,” Alana Russell, the city’s director of communications, said in an email statement to CTV. “We expect hiring to be completed by the end of September and will be placing crossing guards at their respective school locations as soon as possible.”
