Sensex, Nifty settle higher as record commodity prices lift metal stocks

The NSE Nifty 50 index closed 0.8% higher at 14,942.35 and the S&P BSE Sensex rose 0.6% to 49,502.41. Last week, the indexes gained 1.3% and 0.9%, respectively.
Indian shares closed higher for a fourth straight session on Monday as a rally in commodity prices lifted metal stocks and mortgage lender HDFC extended gains after posting better-than-expected quarterly results. The NSE Nifty 50 index closed 0.8% higher at 14,942.35 and the S&P BSE Sensex rose 0.6% to 49,502.41. Last week, the indexes gained 1.3% and 0.9%, respectively.More Related News
