Kandasamy, a resident of Korattur in Chennai, was assaulted with a metal rod by a man posing as a customer in his supermarket. He alleged that a BJP worker named Jagadish, who had taken his property on rent to run a tea shop, was behind this attack.
D Kandasamy, a 70-year-old man from Chennai, was attacked by an unknown person in his supermarket. The attack was captured on CCTV visuals and police are using it to trace the man who attacked the victim.
Kandasamy runs a supermarket called Srinivasa Supermarket in Chennai’s Korattur area. On Friday, April 15, when Kandasamy was in his shop, a man entered the store under the pretext of buying groceries.
When Kandasamy's wife went to pick up an item, the unknown miscreant attacked Kandasamy with an iron rod and hit him on the head.
Kandasamy, upon being attacked, fell on the floor. The entire incident was caught on CCTV.
Later, Kandasamy was rushed to a hospital and he gave a written complaint about the incident. He has alleged that a BJP worker named Jagadish, who had also taken Kandasamy's property on rent to run a tea shop, was behind this attack.
Kandasamy, in his complaint, said that he had asked Jagadish to vacate the property in November 2021, but he had still not done so. The attack on him, Kandasamy feels, was done with an ulterior motive by Jagadish.
Korattur Police, who received the complaint, are now investigating the case and using the CCTV visuals to try and find the man who attacked Kandasamy.
