
Sena Name With Shinde Camp For Now, Supreme Court To Hear Team Uddhav Plea

The "mashaal" or flaming torch election symbol will remain with Uddhav Thackeray for now, the Supreme Court said today, hearing a petition from the faction that has challenged the Election Commission's order handing the Shiv Sena name and symbol to the faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Mr Thackeray had sought status quo till the matter is decided. Kapil Sibal, who was representing him in court, told a bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud that they want protection. "We want protection. We don't want our properties to be taken over and bank accounts taken over".
