
Schools in Delhi reopen after summer holidays

Delhi schools have reopened today, July 1, 2022, after summer vacations spanning over a month.
After a summer vacation of more than a month, Delhi schools reopened on Friday. As Covid-19 cases are on a rise, schools have been instructed to ensure that all Covid-19 protocols are being strenuously followed. The schools in Delhi were closed on May 11, 2022, for summer vacation but classes continued till June 18, 2022, for Mission Buniyad.
At the same time, the Directorate of Education (DoE) and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) were directed by the Deputy Chief Minister cum Education Minister, Manish Sisodia, on Thursday to continue the classes for Mission Buniyad for two additional months.
The deputy CM and education minister further said that classes for Mission Buniyad had been conducted on a war footing this year.
He added that the results of these classes have been splendid while also stating that it has played an important role to bridge the learning gap that widened in the last two years of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Delhi Deputy CM went on to add, "Lakhs of children of our schools have benefited from this and there has been a positive improvement in their learning levels.”
“All the credit for this goes to the teachers and school heads of DoE the and MCD. If MCD and DoE work together like this then it will be a big help in improving the learning levels of students," he added.
He went on to say that most students at the primary level are in MCD schools.
