School student made to clean toilet in TN's Kancheepuram; probe underway

Kancheepuram collector has ordered an inquiry as videos emerged of a student allegedly made to clean toilet in a government school. A video of students cleaning restrooms in Erode government school was also shared on social media.
Two videos emerged on Tuesday of government schools in Tamil Nadu's Kancheepuram and Erode, where students were seen cleaning restroom.
In the first incident, a school girl from Alapakkam government school in Kancheepuram was allegedly made to clean the toilet in the campus. After the video surfaced on social media, Kancheepuram district collector took note of the incident and asked the District Education Officer to conduct a probe.
Following the inquiry, it was found that the video was recorded on a Sunday when no staff were present at the school. Further probe is underway to find the person who recorded the video and to know why the student was present at the school on a Sunday.
Meanwhile, in another similar incident, a video of a couple of students in Erode government school cleaning the restroom went viral. The video shows students in government school uniforms. The incident was recorded in Perundurai of Erode district.
The district collector was alerted about the video. The officials are yet to verify the incident.
