SonyLiv launched the motion poster of Scam 2003 is based on the 2003 Stamp Paper Scam by Abdul Karim Telgi. The makers will share an important announcement related to the series tomorrow.
After the stupendous success of Scam 1992, SonyLiv announced the second season of the Scam franchise, Scam 2003: The Telgi Story. The series is directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Applause Entertainment. The OTT platform unveiled the motion poster of Scam 2003 on Monday, May 23, to tease its viewers.
After more than a year of announcing Scam 2003, a sequel to Scam 1992, finally the makers have some news to share on the web series. The official Instagram page of SonyLiv shared the motion poster of Scam 2003. "Stay Tuned. #Scam2003 (sic)," read the caption.
According to a source, makers will unveil the cast of the series on Tuesday, May 24.
Scam 1992's sequel is tentatively titled Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi. While the first season was based on the 1992 Indian stock market scam, the second season will follow the story of Abdul Karim Telgi, the man behind the 2003 Stamp Paper Scam. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the series is based on the book Reporter ki Diary, written by journalist Sanjay Singh, who broke the story of the scam in 2003.
The series will capture the life of Abdul Karim Telgi. Born in Khanapur in Karnataka, his journey to becoming the mastermind behind one of India’s most innovative scams spread across various states of India is quite intriguing. It is estimated that the scam value was allegedly around Rs 20,000 crore. Kiran Yadnyopavit, a popular writer of Marathi films has been roped in to write and develop the story along with author Sanjay Singh. The filming will begin later this year.
