SC asks govt to prepare for Covid third wave, says create pan-India buffer oxygen stock to subside panic

Amid reports that the third wave of Covid-19 is inevitable in India, the SC has asked the Centre to adopt a pan-India approach to look at the issue of oxygen supply in the country.
The Supreme Court has asked the central government to start preparing for the third wave of Covid-19, saying that it is important to create buffer stock to prevent panic among the public. You (Centre) need to look at the issue of oxygen supply on a pan-India basis. There is a need to look at oxygen audit and also reassess the basis for oxygen reallocation, says Justice Chandrachud During a hearing on the supply of oxygen to Delhi, the SC asked the Centre to devise a pan-India approach to prepare for the third wave of coronavirus. The SC added that the basis for the allocation of oxygen could be reassessed from the audit before the third wave strikes India.More Related News
