Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the nation on Sunday through his monthly radio address, Mann Ki Baat. He praised the nation, saying that he witnessed India's collective might on Independence Day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the countrymen's participation in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign on Independence Day, saying it demonstrated the nation's collective might.
During his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', PM Modi said, "In August, all your letters, messages, and cards have soaked my office in hues of the tricolor. I have hardly come across any letter which does not carry the tricolour or does not talk about the tricolour and freedom."
"People came up with different innovative ideas for the tricolour campaign. A puzzle artist has created beautiful tricolour mosaic art in record time. Assam govt employees created a 20-feet tricolour," he added.
The prime minister further said that the colours of Amrit Mahotsav were seen not only in India but also in other countries of the world. Local singers living in Botswana sang 75 patriotic songs to celebrate 75 years of India's independence.
Talking about Amrit Sarovars, he said, "You will remember in Mann Ki Baat, I had talked about Amrit Sarovar four months ago. After that, local administration got active in different districts, voluntary organisations came together, local people connected, and the construction of Amrit Sarovars became a mass movement."
"Amrit Sarovar Abhiyan not only solves many of our problems today; it is equally necessary for our coming generations. I urge all of you, especially my young friends, to actively participate in the Amrit Sarovar campaign," he added.
The prime minister also urged the people to join the campaign to fight malnutrition in the coming months.
