A Sault Ste. Marie attorney who has been practising law in Ontario for 22 years has been appointed as a judge in the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario.
A Sault Ste. Marie attorney who has been practising law in Ontario for 22 years has been appointed as a judge in the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario.
Brian DeLorenzi has been a partner in the O'Neill DeLorenzi Nanne Law Firm since 2007 and primarily practised in civil litigation.
He also practised in the areas of insurance defence and labour and employment law.
"His varied practice allowed him to represent a diverse range of public organizations, private companies, and individuals," the Department of Justice of Canada said in a news release.
DeLorenzi's appointment was announced Wednesday by Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada Arif Virani among four others.
His new role opened up as Justice E.E. Gareau retired from full-time work June 30. Gareau will continue to work as a judge part-time.
DeLorenzi was born and raised in the Sault.
