Sasikala did not conspire against Jayalalithaa: AIADMK leader Panneerselvam tells inquiry panel

O Panneerselvam in his deposition before an inquiry panel said, Sasikala and her family members did not conspire against late Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa.
AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam (OPS) on Tuesday told the Arumugasamy Commission that Sasikala, the expelled party leader, did not conspire against former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa.
Appearing before the Jayalalithaa death inquiry panel, OPS said neither Sasikala nor her family conspired against Jayalalithaa, who died on December 5, 2016, due to cardiac arrest.
During cross-examination, counsel for Sasikala pointed out to Panneerselvam that eight IAS and IPS officials had made a submission vis-a-vis the alleged 'conspiracy'.

Their submission is that during 2010-11 or subsequently, Sasikala or her family members did not conspire against Jayalalithaa and police too did not have information in connection with that. When the counsel pointed it out, Panneerselvam said the officials' deposition was correct.
OPS said, "For 74 days I did not see her [Jayalalithaa]. People had raised demands over her death and doubts about Chinnamma [Sasikala]. I had only requested the commission for the truth to come out. Personally, I have respect for Chinnamma."
When appearing before the Arumugasamy Commission on Monday, March 21, OPS had said that he did not know why Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital.
