Sardar Ka Grandson Review. Neena Gupta is the hero of Arjun Kapoor film
India Today
Sardar Ka Grandson stars Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. But it is Neena Gupta who is the sole soul of the film.
"Hanuman ke bhakt ho kya? Booti chahiye toh pahad hi utha loge," a Pakistani police officer says to Arjun Kapoor after he expresses his wish to carry his ancestral home from Lahore to Amritsar. It's nearly Mission Impossible but when it's a grandma's wish, a Bollywood hero is destined to outdo Tom Cruise. In Sardar Ka Grandson, Amreek Singh (Arjun Kapoor) sets for himself this monumental task of fulfilling his grandmother, Sardar Kaur's (Neena Gupta) wish. Sardar can't travel to Pakistan for reasons that involve her love for cricketer Harbhajan Singh and her hot temper. But that doesn't stop her from pestering her family members to take her to Lahore. At first, Amreek dismisses Sardar's wish, but he eventually identifies with her life-long grief after his own bitter break-up. All is hunky-dory till this point in the film, but it hits a low when Arjun Kapoor starts executing his unimaginable plan. The trailer of Sardar Ka Grandson prepared us for unreal scenarios, but it gets outright silly all too quickly. Amreek not only travels to Pakistan, but he appears on Pakistani news channels and talk shows to support his cause without facing any problem. He even has a Miley Cyrus moment on a wrecking ball right after landing in Lahore.More Related News
