Samsung took the wraps off its new Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra model, which offers a larger display, a beefier battery, more storage, and better front cameras to offer users a more premium experience than the other two models.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series has been launched, alongside the Galaxy S22 series. This year, Samsung launched three models under its Galaxy Tab S series. The company unveiled a regular Galaxy Tab S8 and a Plus model at today’s Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung also took the wraps off its new Ultra model, which offers a larger display, a beefier battery, more storage, and better front cameras to offer users a more premium experience than the other two models. This is similar to what Samsung is doing with its Ultra-branded phones for flagship series. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is a direct rival to Apple’s iPad Pro, purely because of its high price tag and premium features. Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series ships with Android 12 out of the box. The regular model comes with an 11-inch LTPS TFT display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 276ppi pixel density. The panel operates at WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixels) resolution.
It packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC under the hood. It is backed by up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The company has also given the option to expand the internal storage by up to 1TB using a microSD card.
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 has a dual rear camera setup, which is almost similar to its predecessor. The setup includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a 6-megapixel secondary ultra-wide-angle sensor. It has the ability to shoot up to 8K videos at 60fps. The latest version has a 12-megapixel Ultra-wide-angle sensor on the front, which is an upgrade over the 8-megapixel camera that we saw on the Galaxy Tab S7.
The Galaxy Tab S8 retains an 8,000mAh battery. It comes with support for up to 45W fast charging. The company will ship an S Pen as well as a USB type C cable in the box. However, there won't be any charging adapter, which is something that Samsung is already doing with its flagship phones.
The connectivity options on the Galaxy Tab S8 include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, Geomagnetic. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as quad stereo speakers that are tuned by AKG and supported by Dolby Atmos.
